CareySchool of Business, primarily advising undergraduate students intheir 2nd year and beyond at ASU, as well as incoming transferstudentsWorks with students both one-on-one and in group/classsettings, interacting in-person, phone, Zoom, email and/or othertechnologyProactively monitors student academic progress through avariety of reporting tools including eAdvisor, Salesforce,PeopleSoft and DARs. In addition to these tools, phone outreachwill be used to relay academic options, course selection andregistrationResponds promptly to student questions and concerns, workingwith them in their degree progression and completion. Job DescriptionThis positionis based at ASU’s Tempe campus. Due to COVID-19, most advisingstaff (as of this posting date) are working remotely. When safe todo so, staff will return to working on campus. Training for thisposition may occur remotely. The W. P. Carey School of Business Undergraduate Programs Office iscurrently seeking a service-oriented individual to join ouradvising team at the Tempe campus.  This position advisesundergraduate students with a focus on student success, retentionand making timely progress toward degree completion. Strongtechnical, administrative, and organizational skills are neededalong with the desire to help students succeed. Academic SuccessAdvisors have a “Business is Personal” perspective, along withstrong written and verbal communication skills. They are a part ofa team that jumps in and is willing to help out when and whereverit is necessary; this includes teaching a first-year studentsuccess course, assisting with New Student Experience and CoursePlanning Sessions, and attending W. P. Carey convocation. Working EnvironmentActivities are performed in an environmentally controlledoffice setting subject to extended periods of sitting, keyboardingand manipulating a computer mouse; required to stand for varyinglengths of time and walk moderate distances to perform workW.
